- This 4 hour hands-on workshop provides a practical introduction to orthopedic immobilization and is ideal for individuals who are new to orthopedics or actively pursuing a position in the orthopedic field. This continuing-education–approved program focuses on essential, real-world skills used in orthopedic practice.
- Participants will gain hands-on experience rolling and removing casts and applying acute care fiberglass splints under guided instruction.
- To ensure proper fit and safety, students are asked to bring:
- -One box of disposable gloves
- -One towel
- -One pair of patient care scissors
- All participants will receive a one-year ASOP membership, which includes eligibility to sit for the Orthopedic Allied Professional (OAP) examination. This workshop represents the first step toward becoming a Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT).
- Upon registration and payment, students will receive:
- -Access to pre-workshop instructional videos
- -Access to the 200-page Orthopedic Study Guide
- -Access to the Orthopedic Casting Manual
